I have worn an A/K (Above-Knee) prosthesis for nearly 70 years and have been treated by many, many prosthetists during that time. None has been as good as Boston Artificial Limb Co. (Balco). Balco has a unique combinations of skills: knowledge of technological changes and improvements in prosthetics technical expertise in making prostheses customer service --- adjusting Balco’s schedule to a patient’s needs (which are often emergencies) above all, listening to what the patient is saying I cannot recommend Boston Artificial Limb enough.

I have been using BAL for over 50 years. They have met my needs through childhood, teenage sports, and into middle age. They understand that each patient is different both in terms of what is comfortable and what is manageable. You are never treated like a number and you will never be forced into anything that does not work for you. They are empathetic to the frustrations caused by today’s healthcare systems and will do their best to walk you through it. Most importantly, you’re treated with respect and like family.

I lost my right leg below the knee while serving with the US Marines in Vietnam in 1968. Boston Artificial Limb has been my prosthetic supplier for over thirty years. Always responsive and quick to provide solutions for my specific needs, and as a result I continue to play golf on a regular basis with adaptive equipment. I also exercise on a daily basis using free weights which require a sturdier prosthesis. Steve Leo has been my go to prosthetic person due to the fact that Boston Artificial has enabled me to enjoy an active lifestyle while approaching 80 years old. These folks are fantastic!!!
